Attention all snooker enthusiasts! We are thrilled to announce the launch of our regular monthly snooker competition happening at Halifax Snooker Club. Get ready to showcase your skills, compete with fellow players, and potentially claim the title of champion. Notably, this exciting event will take place on the last Sunday of every month, providing you with ample opportunities to test your abilities and enjoy some friendly competition.

Mark your calendars and make sure to arrive on time! All in all, players must be registered by 10:15 AM to participate. We will conduct the draw for the matches promptly to ensure a smooth start to the competition.

Entry Fee:

• £10 per player
• £6.50 registration fee per player to cover the cost of table lights for the entire competition

As a rule, all entry fees will contribute to the cash prizes for the winner and runner-up. So, not only do you get a chance to showcase your snooker skills, but you also have the opportunity to win some fantastic cash prizes!

Format:

• If there are more than 16 entries, we will play all matches in a best-of-three format.
• The final will be best of five matches.
• If there are fewer than 16 entries, all matches will be best of five throughout.

Handicap System:

We operate on a handicap system to ensure fair and competitive matches for players of all skill levels. Handicaps currently range from -48 to +26, allowing players of varying abilities to compete on equal footing.

Key Updates to Our Handicap System:

• Monthly Adjustments: Handicaps will now be adjusted monthly based on competition performance:
  • 1st round losers: Gain +2 points.
  • Losing semi-finalists: Lose -2 points.
  • Runner-up: Loses -4 points.
  • Winner: Loses -6 points.
• The maximum handicap difference between players is now capped at 60 points per frame (excluding professional players).
• We will also base a new players handicap off any published leagues that they are in.

Additional Notes:

• Handicaps are flexible: Adjustments can occur at any time based on competition results.
• Highly skilled amateurs may exceed the -48 cap, while professional players start from -70.

This system ensures matches remain both competitive and exciting while catering to players of all abilities.

Additional Prizes:

• Generally speaking, losing semi-finalists will receive vouchers for FREE TABLE TIME (£10)

Trophy and Recognition:
The ultimate glory awaits the winner, who will receive a prestigious trophy as a symbol of their victory.
